First Day of School - 9/3/2019
The 2019/2020 school year starts Tuesday, September 3, 2019.
Graduation for the Class of 2018 will be held at the PGHS Athletic Field on Saturday, June 15, 2019, at 9:00 a.m. Should inclement weather prevent conducting the exercises outside on June 15, 2019, then Graduation would be moved inside the Prince George High School Gymnasium, with each student allocated three tickets for parents/guardians to attend. The district would not allow overflow in the Auditorium or Student Commons area due to Fire Marshall recommendations for building occupancy. Patrons who do not have tickets may observe Graduation Exercises online at home or where they could obtain computer access. Graduation will be broadcast live from links found at http://trnwired.org or http://pgtvnews.org; and from http://pgs.k12.va.us. Also, DVD’s of the event would be available to purchase with all proceeds going to the broadcast journalism program.
Two other important occasions provide seniors the opportunity to celebrate their accomplishments and are wonderful events to share with family and friends. Baccalaureate Services will be Saturday, June 8, 2019 at 3:00 p.m. at the Union Branch Baptist Church. The graduation ceremony and various events surrounding the final exercises are the embodiment of student preparation for adulthood and higher education.
Herff Jones is the provider for all graduation items. Information packets were distributed during the first week of school to all seniors and Herff Jones representatives were on campus late September. If you have not ordered your graduation items, such as caps, gowns, and announcements, please review the provided packet or visit www.VAGRAD.com.
It is important to place your order prior to December 31st, 2018 to ensure availability and pricing. Final senior payments are due February 14, 2019. Herff Jones will be on campus April 16-18, 2019 to deliver orders.

Please make plans to attend one of the three Senior & Parent Mandatory meetings to be held in the Spring of 2019. Meetings will be held dates will held April 8, April 16, and April 24 2019. It is required that each Senior and at least one parent or guardian attend one of these meetings.
Important graduation information will be presented about end of the year senior activities, exams and special dates, practices and pictures, as well as event expectations and parking and finally, what to expect in case we have inclement weather. Plan to be present for the entire meeting, typically about an hour. Doors will close at 7:05 and attendance is taken as you leave.
All on campus parking is by pass only on the day of Graduation. If you do not have a color-coded parking pass issued by the school, please take advantage of the free shuttle service provided by PG Transportation. Park your car at one of the PG Courthouse lots and ride to the drop-off/pick-up location at the front of the high school. The Shuttle will continue throughout the morning until all guests have cleared the stadium.
The map displayed below shows the designated color and number codes for the parking during the 2019 Graduation activities. Please note that only guests with parking passes matching the color/number of the associated lots will be authorized to park in these areas. There is no drop off areas for anyone during the morning of graduation. Below you will find the designation of each lot:
Everyone is expected to dress in a manner which is dignified and appropriate for a formal occasion such as a graduation. Female and male students alike should not wear flip flops, tennis shoes or boots. Acceptable dress would include: ladies – nice dress or skirt/blouse ensemble that does not exceed the length of the gown, with black dress shoes or sandals; gentlemen – black or navy dress pants, light color dress shirt with necktie or bowtie and black dress shoes.
